The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
The College is also approved by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania, which granted recognition in 2004 to Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College
of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) as an approved PCOM branch campus. GA-PCOM is authorized
by the Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission of Georgia as a branch campus
The doctor of osteopathic medicine programs at PCOM are accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), 190 S. LaSalle Street, Suite 2850 Chicago, IL 60603-4810, 312-664-3575, fax 312-664-4652, www.acpe-accredit.org.
ACPE accredits Doctor of Pharmacy programs offered by colleges and schools of pharmacy in the United States and selected non-U.S. sites. The accreditation term granted extends until June 30, 2020, which is the customary term for a new program receiving accreditation status.
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2028. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

Candidate for Accreditation is a pre-accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates that the program is progressing toward accreditation and may matriculate students in professional courses. Candidate for Accreditation is not an accreditation status nor does it assure eventual accreditation.

The Doctor of Psychology program in School Psychology is in the process of seeking APA accreditation. Please note, APA accreditation is not guaranteed, but every effort will be made to achieve this distinction.
In combination, the MS/EdS programs are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) as an approved Institute of Higher Education (IHE) for the school psychology certification program. The MS/EdS is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
The MS program is also approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to provide the course content required for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.
Documents of accreditation are on file in the President’s Office, with copies in the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, and may be seen upon request.
